"King Of Kong" Arcade.....

I kind of doubt that this arcade is "owned" by Billy for several OBVIOUS reasons:

1). The most obvious. No Donkey Kong. Not even one used as a prop for display purposes only. Look at all the OTHER props that cost WAY more than a Donkey Kong machine.

2). No Pac Man machine, or Ms. PAC for that matter! Billy has (or has had) a Ms Pac Man at his resturaunt, and it was Pac Man that Billy became famous for. If it were Billy's personal arcade, wouldn't you think that SOME Pac game would be present?

3). Billy doesn't live anywhere near Orlando. The airport is not close to where he is based out of. Sure there are loads of tourists who go through that airport, but i am pretty sure the closest major airport to where he lives is Miami.

4). There is absolutely NO indication given (from what i have seen) that either Billy or Steve have anything to do with this establishment. I'm pretty sure that someone with some money to invest in an arcade picked a theme, and probably either asked for the filmmaker's permission or simply went ahead with it knowing that they would probably NOT get sued for using the theme.

Why doesn't someone just ask him or Steve about it???

It is somewhat hidden (though there are quite a few signs around with the word "arcade").

Funny you mention that, it makes me think, how many times have we been in an airport or hotel or a beach or some other establishment and seen signs referring to an arcade, only to find out that it either no longer exists, or is so well hidden as to preclude anyone from actually finding it and playing the games. I remember being in a hotel in Washington DC a few years back, and seeing signs for an arcade, but I couldn't find the damn thing. Finally one evening I went down a hallway which I had assumed just led to a service area and found a small arcade that had some classics, I remember MK2, Arkanoid, and Terminator 2 off the top of my head, but I know there were a few more. Nine times out of ten however, the "arcades" in these places usually contain one half working beat to shit pinball, a claw machine, and maybe a Ms. Pac machine with 30 years of screen burn.

Sorry to say, but I think these type of arcades are the norm today... I do have a cool little kinda "old-school" movie theater arcade/game room about 20 minutes down the highway from me, though! They have Ms. Pac-Man, Arkanoid, Frogger, Super Hang-On, Addams Family pinball, another pinball game whose name I don't recall, a bowling game, and 1 or 2 others. Fun place to roadtrip to for a movie, followed by some gaming.

Too bad Billy is on the No Fly List and can't enter the Airport. LOL

No but seriously how do you design a room around the theme of Donkey Kong and not have a Donkey Kong to play?? Doesn't make sense.

It's like Tracii Guns being kicked out of Guns N' Roses...

Then restarting the L.A. Guns. Only to be kicked out of that band also.

I think the window of opportunity to capitalize on this theme closed a while ago. Not surprised the arcade ain't doing so hot.

The fad and the thrill of KOK is gone. People seem to forget how fickle the public is these days, especially with ideas.
