Kinda ot. More on. Rear projector bulbs best deals where??

Hey everyone, looking to find out who you use for tv / cAde projection screen bulbs.
Mitsuibishi WD-52528 is the unit we have at our house.
yes I know of google but would like to find out who you all have bought from and
Have discovered good quality parts bulbs etc from.

Also anyone who has done some projecton tv work, best to change bulb and the bulb housing?
Or would just a bulb swap be fine?? Then another question being These Are high volt high temp bulbs should I do any special handling to prevent skin oil on the new one??

It almost sounds like a craigs list describing a failed monitor lol.
But yes the bulb really went out. and buying a new one is something I don't mind since his tv was given to us and it has not suffered the horrific cap failures yet that Many in his series have suffered from.

I've replaced two different bulbs (both Sony), and just bought whatever was cheap on ebay. So far, I've had good luck with both. I bought just the bare bulbs, because they were a little bit cheaper, and also bought name brand, because they were only a little bit more than the cheapest no-name ones. I think Phillips, Osram, etc are good bulbs.

Swapping the bulb into the old housing is easy, but you do need to be careful. I don't think it warned specifically not to touch the bulb (the actual bulb isn't usually exposed), but I personally touched as little of the bulb as possible.

Ok, well I wouldn't buy from them again.

apexlamps.com.
I would add them to my avoid list. Couple of reasons.
1. their site is not sending right return to paypal. They keep wanting to say its everyone elses issue. I finally had to manually send a payment as their website check out kept telling paypal to reject my payment.

2. Just pulled the bulb out of the box and looking at the mirrored reflection inside, MANY I MEAN MANY imperfections. Which make me question the life of the bumb beyond 120 days
*their warranty time* Looks like poor casting or quality control on the bulbs.

Also not rated same per their own sticker...
So possibly more heat, and shorter life of other components..

Buy at your own risk.
Personally I will look around more next time (This unit was for my roommates so their choice to go with them) I was ready to find a new place..

Ouch. What's your though on off brand there is a place about 15 min from me lamp and housing for 76..
