kinda an arcade on craigslist, what are these worth?

just talked to the guy, he's close to my apartment. i know it's not coin-op but are they any good? he said it only has an 15" screen everything thing work's fine. what do they cost new? is this a good deal? just got rid of a couple cabs down to just the playchoice due to space restraints for the holiday's (since i live in an apartment) seems like a novel game.

thanks
roy

Pretty crappy overall. But at least the guy is only asking $100. Usually they are listed for like $1200 or something crazy. It's a poor substitute for the real deal but if you just need a quick fix it will do the trick.

for $100 you can play it for a bit and probably get your money back. (maybe get your money back)

$100 is the proper price for these.

those things are garbage, if you need a quick fix just downloade mame and buy a cheap controller

people are able to sell those midway cabs for like $400 though so you might be able to flip it

go for it. what the hell. definitely not on par as far as having original cabs and not as good quality wise, but i'd feel ok paying $100 but still try to talk him down to a lower price. especially if you lack the space for more cabinets.

thanks for the info, ive had ALOT of cabs over the years just never dealt with any of these, never had any intrest if it wasnt coin-op. how much are these new?

It's the equivalent of a serious coin collector buying a "commemorative-edition" sorta-looks-like-real-U.S.-currency silver slug minted in Jersey.

If you saw that thing amongst the real coins, you'd raise an eyebrow.

... how much are these new?

They started out ridiculously expensive, but didn't sell. I've seen them hover around $250 retail lately.

Can't go too wrong with $100...

I've heard these things are pain in the ass "play-wise". Not a cabaret and not full-size. Kinda in-between. And with a 13" monitor sounds like a pain in the ass to play.

Edit: Are these Jamma?. Could the board be pulled and put in a different cab? If so, and the price is lower, could be worth it for a cheap multi.

YES YOU CAN.

I paid $80 and totally regretted it. I was going to rebuild the thing into a shelled out defender but ultimately it was just not what I wanted to put my work into. I still have the board and want to build a decent plug into TV type control panel with it. Think of a box CP w/ the Phoenix Arcade style CPO over it.

Only a casual player would ever want that thing.... very casual...

they are built out of 3/8 pressed board w/ reinforcements at joints.

It's sad how few eyebrows do get raised about those and how many people go to coin shows with only home shopping channel or late night ads as their guides to coin collecting thinking they can sell it (let alone to a dealer) for any kind of money. I feel bad for them, mostly, they got sold an unripe lemon.

As to the OP, all signs point to those things being absolutely terrible, though I will admit I've not actually played one myself. On the bright side, at $100 as long as it's not much of a drive you can probably flip it for $150 or $200 when you play it for 10 minutes and hate it. :)
