Not sure what to think, so taking a little poll. Lets say the machine had paint chips like crazy and you were going to have to repaint the entire machine anyway. Plus you never plan on selling the machine and were a huge fan of whatever sports team you were to mod it to.
BTW this is not my machine.

I think most Jukeboxes past 1962 most people wouldn't care what you did with them, "theming" might actually help the value. Even on a somewhat collectible one if the finish is shot (unless it's a rare low volume machine) I don't think you take a great risk.

Come on guys theres been 74 people to look at this thread and only 1 response. Lets hear what you think about this thing.

I would say do it, or go for it on a CD machine like that. No harm!!

Under those circumstances..... do whatever the heck you want to it.

The one you showed as an example looked like it was done in a tasteful manner, so yeah, it looks good to me.

I think it's pretty cool, the diamond shape around the glass fits perfectly with the baseball theme. Of course you are going to catch some crap from the purists but it's your machine and you can do what you want. I've made some mods to mine and try to keep the original parts in case some day the thing becomes super valuable. Not real likely with newer machines, it's mostly the old 1950's ones that folks go crazy over.

Personally, I would definately do it, but only if you do something that looks classy. Like a Harley Davidson theme, or a Fender guitar theme, or something. If it's done right and not tacky, it could look great. The Phillies may have the absolute worse colors ever of any professional team though so that's not really a good example, but you know what I mean, lol.
