Hi All:
I got a Killer Instinct. The monitor isn't the original, and it has little wavy lines. e.g. on white letters, they tend to wave back and forth.
One person said I may have a monitor in there that isn't the same sync as what the pcb is expecting. Is that a possibility, or might it be something else?
I know it isn't the monitor itself - I tried it in a different game (Area 51) and it looked fine on that.

I'd look at the connection to the board first. Faulty grounds can cause monitor disturbances/oddities. Clean the edge connector of the PCB and check the voltages at the harness - ensure you're getting the correct voltages to the boardset.

The next step

We went ahead and ran new ground wires, made better connections on the power wires, and ran a ground wire from the monitor chassis to the transformer ground. Also replaced the power cord.

It looks like the isolation transformer isn't getting 115 v. It's getting 110 v instead. But the monitor gets 115 v and the pcbs is at 5.2 vdc.

We were thinking of replacing the emi filter next.
