Did you ever try to use the sound eprom swap to see if K1 sound comes on?

I believe the first patch of KI2 boards were made from the original KI1 board before they changed it.

But not sure if that's why? still pretty cool.

No I did not but the sound will work if I swap the ROMS.

It's a rom hack. Works great. I put my ki1 sound roms on my ki2 board, new boot rom and cf .

Yes I basically bypasses all the checks and work similar to the adapter board that was used for the KI1 to KI2 conversions back in the day.
