Well, uh, you guys may or may not believe this, but I finally connect the large pc fan that's in the cabinet. It aims directly at the cpu w/ heatsink. Booted up the game and it ran for half an hour without every getting jibberish on screen!

I had to leave so i turned it off, but it never messed up! It was consistently at 2 or 3 minutes messing up! so weird! I'll have to give it some more "tests", especially with the new button switches come in!

oh yeah dude, you need that fan. it's what keeps the CPU cool. lots of people erroneously disconnect/remove it when they get CF drives thinking it's for the hard drive (like I used to think) but it's at the funny angle it's at to cool the CPU as well. although, I don't think it should artifact like that right away. I'd be more inclined to say you need some reworking done on the CPU legs, actually, but cool you got it to work... for now.

yeah, i'll be letting it run for long periods of time and keeping an eye on it
