Hey all,
Maybe its been discussed before, but what pin do you think has the most dynamic audio track. I'm talking a bass that you can feel, and audio that is full clean and vibrant. I know about the other companies who do the audio upgrades. But I was thinking about trying my hand at revamping a pinball audio system and going COMPLETELY off the deep end. So, ultimately, I'll need a machine to start with. Anyone have any preferences as to what pins have the hands down best audio tracks around.
Again, the requirements:
1. The bass has to kick...hard, if not most of the time than at least part of the time.
2. The music should be interesting, vibrant, and sonically rich
3. The digitized and sampled music should be clean
4. Stereo is preferred

So anyone have any suggestions....At the very least, I thought it would make an interesting discussion.

FWIW, the most bass heavy game I have is Earthshaker!

Agreed, but considering that the pro is 5K and the LE is 10K, and they both already sound great.....coupled with the fact that I'll probably never be able to afford one, maybe someone has some suggestions in the 3K or less.

Given your criteria, I'm assuming you're mainly thinking of newer pins, but as far as a good, solid bass kick, Gorgar does that well with it's heartbeat, and for it's age, I'd consider the audio "clean", but definitely not stereo... Always fun with the volume cranked!

i totally agree with Gorgar! i love the deep voice and heartbeat so i installed a Pinball Pro speaker for it and really doesn't sound any better to me....kinda depressing!!!

I really like the Fish Tales pin and have been looking for one for a while. That being said, it might be perfect

But the Dracula choice intrigues me. Are we talking Bram Stoker's Dracula..... I know Stern made one in the 70s I think. Anyways, this would make a good choice considering that I love horror themed pins. I know the Stern went off the deep end with AC/DC, so I kind of thought the Guns and Roses might be a great pin to go nuts with the audio. Jurassic Park also seemed like it might be good choice. I've also played a repro Big Bang Bar, and thought maybe one of the Capcom pins like Airborne, or Pinball Magic would sound nice.

I had a friend who owned a Gorgar. He also owned an Addams Family with the pinball pro audio upgrade. TAF sounded pretty sweet so I suggested he do the same with Gorgar. He loved the way it sounded with a sub upgrade IIRC. But I don't know if I ever really warmed up to it. The age of the system seemed to limit what was possible. But I do believe it thumped a bit. So there would be worse choices.

TAF. With a complete speaker upgrade the bass shakes the house and the speech comes out crystal clear. 'Show Time!" When I had Gorgar, I added a Pinball Pro sub that really made that bass thump... considering Gorgar only had that single bass speaker to bring it alive.

One I miss having made an upgrade to was The Machine. The heart beat made time stand still in that game.... with an audio upgrade, it could be THE ONE.

The Bride of Pinbot may very well be a great choice. The only problem I see is the regular game sounds might drive you bonkers at high volumes. Lots of mids and highs in there. TAF really seems like a great choice. I like the game, and I've heard the bass from the thunder....Its really great. Plus the general game sounds vary quite a bit.

If the hardware was a little newer, Space Invaders might make a good one. I recall the increasing tempo bass that would just pump you up while playing it. Just not sure if the regular game sounds could keep up.

STTNG - Sound good with a sub. Warp 9 mode is just amazing with the low bass rumble.
TOM - When the magic save kicks in and the magnets grab the ball there's a nice low bass sound. game is overall just great with a sub too.

I have a sub on almost all my pins. Cant get enough bass!!
