I ordered a Galaga kick plate decal from phoenixarcade.com and received it damaged. There were several creases that run along the top border of the decal. The decal was shipped to me rolled up in a box. I requested a replacement from Darin Jacobs, the person who runs this business. He refused my request and went so far as to blame the damage on me. I suggest that anyone who is thinking about ordering any merchandise from phoenixarcade think twice, before you encounter a similar problem. Phoenixarcade clearly does not stand behind their product line. Thank you.

This is gonna get ugly. I have never heard anything but good things about Darin.

I received some Tron artwork this week and one of the lower plastics had a scratch in the black area, I alerted Darin and he offered up a replacement but I was able to touch up with a black marker and he offered up a $20 partial refund for the trouble. Darin gets a A+ from me :)

I had a damaged/faulty 720 Boombox decal that he replaced at no cost.

You might want to think about gently taking a heat gun to it. That can relax creases and get rid of them.

Not giving us much information to form an opinion on.

Was the box damaged when you received it? Was the box fine, but the product not up to your liking? Seems like we don't have the whole story.

I have ordered several things from Darin and always got a top-notch product along with great service. One side of my Ms. Pacman side art had a big crease on it, and I wondered how the hell it got past his quality control, but then I realized it was well into a part that gets trimmed off..so it was all good.

PhoenixArcade gets highest marks in my book.

Guys I always try to go the extra mile in helping people if they had a problem with an order. Almost 10 years in business and over 5000 unique customers.

I have all the emails between me and this guy.

First off, he is quite new at this. He asked me in email if he should remove the old Galaga kickplate decal first. Here it is "When I remove the kick plate decal from my Gorgar, is it best to use a heat gun? Have you received my check yet? It would have been for $29.00."

Now, he did email me to tell me there were creases in the artwork. I asked him for a photo of the decal because creases do come out. But not all of them. I told him I would be able to tell by a photo. He says in email that he doesnt have a digital camera. I ask him if the box is damaged, he never replied. In 4 emails I clearly ask him for a photo of the decal and a description of the box. He refused. Here is what he says: "I have no means in which to send you a picture. I do not have a digital camera. The decal could not have left your business in perfect condition and I receive it just 60 minutes ago with creases in it."

Here is what he asked for specifically:"Mail me our another decal tomorrow, and have a label in the box to ship this one back to you, or mail me back a check for $29.00. If you do not take care of this for me, I am not only going to register a complaint against you with the BBB, I will also post on every arcade forum on the Internet, starting with KLOV, what a POS you are, not standing behind your products." and " If you decide not do honor my request, I will return this damaged merchandise to you in person. I travel to Indiana and Kentucky several times a year, and I am quite familiar with Crown Point, Indiana."

Originally he called me to order a kickplate decal. I didnt have any broken sets at the moment but I broke one for him and told him so. He gets his decal and likely mishandled it and creased it. They'd probably come out but I cant say for sure because he wont send me a pic since he claims he doesnt own a digital camera. He keeps emailing me babble and threatens to come to my house. It makes no sense to send someone a replacement free of charge if they wont show me whats wrong.

Bottom line, I did send a replacement free of charge and ate the other one. Not sure what you guys would have done without any proof. You be the judge

Darin came to my "rescue" when I had received unbelievably lousy artwork from another company that I'd found on Ebay. I can dig up photos somewhere for that stuff but it was profoundly horrible--unusable JUNK. After some squabbling, that guy finally offered to refund my money.

The decals I received from Darin were awesome. Highest quality and authentic in every way. On my website, I only have two links and phoenixarcade.com is one of them. He's the way to go for vintage arcade game artwork, IMO.

For years I avoided using darin.... Because I'm cheap. I recently ordered from him, was extremely pleased with the product. And especially pleased with the service. I am actually looking forward to my next order with Darin so I can continue getting great service and merchandise. (I got burnt pretty bad by my last sticker guy)

As for the plaintiff, good luck restoring your "gorgar"

Darin, you did the easiest thing by just making this guy go away. It's unfortunate that bitchy people get their way, but sometimes they do. However, he's never going to be able to buy a product from you again and he's done on this forum. For those threats, he should be listed in the feedback section and everyone should steer clear. I'd also share his real name with the other dealers here (don't out him in public), so they know to steer clear of him. Good luck with any future projects...because you won't be getting any help here.

I didn't think Phoenix sold just the kickplate alone. Something isn't right here.

Just trying to point out how Darin is being the nice guy here in the transaction.

Doing the guy a favor in the first place, then getting crapped on in return.

Who cant take a picture in 2011?

I purchased a star wars kick plate from Darrin, it was crushed in the mail... he sent me a new one free of charge. I did send him a pic...

As always... great experiences with phoenixarcade.

I send pictures of random crushed shit to Darrin, and he sends me free artwork. :D

Sorry... it's St. Patrick's day and I've been drinking.... :friday:

You should post the guy's name.... I don't care to deal with people whose first reaction when something doesn't go exactly their way is to threaten.
