Kersten River Patrol PCB

Rare PCB... So rare I can't find a compatible pinout to test it with
There's a 22p Orca, and an 18p Unknown that's documented - and it isn't either of those. So while it's in fantastic shape, it is UNTESTED. Also, not sure how it came to be, but this is THE actual PCB that was photographed and submitted to VAPS for this game's entry (neato!) http://www.arcade-museum.com/images/128/1281046933.jpg It actually came to me bubblewrapped and separated as in the submission photo - I put it back together with standoffs for the first time in who knows how long. Previous owner had it stored away all wrapped up for close to a decade! (http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=9329)

$125 SHIPPED!!!

I love seeing stuff like this with a cool history.

GLWTS!

I've never played the arcade version, but I loved River Raid on the 2600.

Here is a close up pic of my Orca River Patrol. I think its safe to say this Kyoto version and the Orca version have the same pinout....

Hope this helps.

It does indeed. Going by the Orca pinout @ Mike's it looked incorrect, but just now searching for the Hopper Robo pinout on VAPS, I can see that should work. I'll wire it up tonight, unless somebody buys it before the price potentially doubles :D

And the verdict is in : NOT any 22p Orca pinout, as I first thought. When I went to mock up an adapter, it became clear why I made that earlier conclusion...

The last 2 pins on both sides do not have traces running to anything - and on the Orca pinout, those are the video pins. I went ahead and wired my adjustable adapter up for Orca to confirm and indeed, no video (or audio). Chips had +5 at the legs, but with no video out I got nothing.

Gee thanks Lil Debbie, you're such an asset to this hobby. Your death will be your greatest contribution - as then we'll at least be able to scavenge your pile of junk and work out some of your hoarded creations (to sell designs to arcade retailers to copy and get rich from, of course).

Yeah... that'll *really* make me want to deal with you.

*plonk*.

At least you tried. There has got to be a few guys here that have the knowledge on being able figure out the pinout.

This guy's got it, maybe he'll share the pinout.

Unfortunately, that is the well-documented Orca version - not the same PCB or pinout as mine.

Still available. BUMP!

Surely one of you guys wants to own a piece of history and is clever enough to work out the pinout on this rare board

Price drop and a BUMP!

Ebay seller still trying to sell his, now listed for $279:

Wonder if yours is the same pinout as the pirate Silver Land by Falcon (which is probably just as hard to find...)

Btw, I noticed "Gameover" is selling a Mr. Do's! Castle in a Kersten Industries (River Boat!) cabinet:

http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=392145

I never saw a River Boat machine before (according to MAME, it was only released in Japan). Was that the only game that used that cabinet?

Just a bump for the seller, and here's a complete cab for sale in the event someone wanted to get this PCB and have a backup: http://pensacola.craigslist.org/vgm/5884320625.html

Edit: I just noticed the PCB in this linked game looks to be a different version based on the photos, but anyway, a bump for this listing.

Damn, too bad it's not closer. The game is lame, but I'd grab it just for the rarity.
Who or what is "NACS" on the marquee? The game was programmed by Orca Corp and the game (or at least the cabinet) was manufactured by Kersten Industries.
