Had a guy call me about removing a non-functional bill acceptor from a Coke machine, and installing a function bill acceptor he removed from an arcade game. I know some acceptors are different for vending and won't work with arcades (and vice versa) and that some are 24v and some are 120v. Plus connectors might not always be the same.

Anyways, I asked him to send me some pics of the two acceptors, and I'd see if they could be swapped easily. I figured you'd know.

The pics aren't the greatest, so if you need more info, let me know so I can ask for it.

Here are the pics of what is in the Coke machine now:

Due to the 5 image limit, the rest of the pics will be in the next thread...

Your pop machine has an ARDAC (a.k.a. Dixie-Narco) "USA" series bill acceptor with an upstacker. It has a 12 pin connector on the end of it's cable. It is probably a 120 volt AC power.

Your amusement bill acceptor is a Mars series 2000 with an upstacker which come in many versions. Yours is probably a 120 volt AC power and it likely has a 9 pin connector. I think yours is one of the AE2400 series of the Series 2000 which is primarily for amusement/jukebox applications. They also make an AE2600 series of the Series 2000 which is primarily for vending machine applications. The snouts on these are different not only in size/shape, but in placement of the snout on the face of the bill acceptor.

I know that there are "dongle" type harness adapters that convert Mars to Ardac and Ardac to Mars wiring that you can buy from companies like capital Vending and Vendor's Exchange International. I would strongly suggest you talk to the tech folks at both those companies for advise.
