So earlier this year, I needed a cabinet part, nothing really big but, something that I needed and the seller (not on KLOV that I know of) who was parting out a game got all super excited, and, act like they were selling me a Rolex. Saying things like "well you need this part". The kind of guy you know snooty, and dripping of jerky reseller vibes. So I bit the bullet whatever I got the part even though I over-paid. Flashforward to past couple of weeks I had a PCB for sale and priced right (about 85%) of going rate. He messages me telling me it is over-priced, not advertised right, and so on. Then gives me the sob story how he's just collector and really just trying to put a game together. I don't think he rememberd me, so I played some of his tactics on him. I went even further, and actually dropped the price by 5% whereas he did not when the shoe was on the other foot. Anyways he bugged me about the PCB again, today saying it's a board no one else wants. I stayed firm on my price. For the record he's offering me 40% including shipping 🤣. Sorry you grinded me on a cabinet part, and, now you want me to do you an over-the-moon solid? Not going to happen.

I bet he would flip the board the second it's received. Kindness goes along way, and Karma's a bitch. Also It's been a while since I heard one of those fake sob stories.

Yea, I've hit that a few times here. Sometimes I'm just asking for some time to take a pic or 2 to help with a restore but no dice. Maybe it's me??... Just make a mental note to not spend the time on them and move on.

Oh, I gots to know who this is. I see plenty of examples of this behavior around here, which leads me to believe it's one of five people, but I really wanna know if I'm right.

I have encountered this illness more than one time here as well.

It's a guy named Jeff from Lake Tahoe, Ca. I don't think he's here.

I have had members contact me when I'm looking for something specific and offer it to me for 3 to 4 times the going rate because they know I 'need it' and then they think I will just cave and pay. I usually ignore them and move on, or just abandon the project. It's fuckers like that that I will never do business with.

On stuff like pics and help I tend to follow up a few times as people just pure forget sometimes.

You are far too generous by even lowering your price by 5%.

I would have said that it is $x for anyone, but it's $1.5x for you !

(.. I know, .. how Un-Canadian of me ! ) :p

I used to sell at the auto swap meets with a good friend of mine, he would raise the price by a dollar everytime the other person made an offer. After two or three rounds they would just hand over his asking price. :ROFLMAO:

But on the flipside, I have had members contact me and offer parts I need for free, or just for the cost of shipping. I have probably had more transactions like that than the other ones. So there are good people here. It's just when you get one of the other shitheads contacting you that you have to ignore them.

When dealing with not so nice people, I have changed my arcade habits. I do not like selling anything. It not because I am looking for a profit. It is the lies people tell to get a better deal but lies just does maxium damage to relationships and frankly I do not want to hang out with liars. This explain my involvement in getting people refunds for the mario brothers wide body marquee and the klov banning that happen as a result. Do you know I still run across that person in the arcade collecting world. Arcade collecting is a shrinking world more than you know.

Insert the grail lie hear.

I don't always post my arcade adventures on here. Buying out collections, Going out to vist public and private arcades. Hanging out with techs. Reproduction of arcade parts is fun because I have been a tool and die machinist in one of my past jobs.

I am a bit reflective, meaning if you treat me with kindness, I am more than happy to return it tenfold. This explains my involvement with the muesum of pinball.

I recently drove 9 hours on the road to repay kindness from for an old muesum of pinball video tech.

My rambling point is that to kick people out of your life that cause you issues with your passion for these arcade machines. Don't let other people bad behavior ruin your arcade fun habits..

I have also had this experience here, so I try to pay it forward as much as possible. There's way more good here than not IMO.

Damn, I thought you were gonna say you gave away a bunch of valuable parts this year, and today you just scored a bunch of near mint, free games, and the guy even helped you load the games from his garage into your pickup.

That reminds me. I have a burn free, beautiful 13" monitor for your Tetris project. Because you're such a pal, I'll sacrifice it to you only for $750. (Please add $150 for tax, shipping, and packing.)

I've had similar situations here twice before and it's sort of one of the reasons why I don't sell spares more often. I've also had other weird and stupid situations selling arcade stuff.

I've had one guy buy a hanaho taito multi board from me and had me ship it overseas. When he received it he fiiled a PayPal complaint because he didn't realize the board was so small and didn't believe it was real.

Another time I shipped something to a member which I was unable to get an accurate weight on until I got to the post office. We had an understanding that I would accept the my asking price upfront and he would pay for the shipping later. What I got instead was a long video from him chastising me about how I should be shipping items.

I have half a warehouse filled with tons of arcade trinkets carefully removed from bad cabinets. I rarely if ever sell anything because it's simply not worth the hassle anymore.
