Hi,
need some pics of the KarateChamp Video pcb and how it is connected to the cpu board. Further I need a list of the ROM positions. The Mame roms where only numbered from 0-26 but no position.
Thanks

Which PCB did you need? I believe there's two versions - the single player, and the Player Vs Player edition. I think I have both.

Hi,
thanks for your quick reply.
I have this pcb, don't know which one it is.
I got the pcb as it is, I always start with the EPROMs.

Looks like you're missing a few rom chips on your CPU/sound board. D11 and D12 should be populated.

I'll shoot some pics of my board tonight for ya.

Hi,
thanks for your nice pic. This pic I found already, but it doesn't really helps me. My problem is that I need a list of the rom locations. Eg. E13_Rom25 or E12_Rom24. Furthermore I need a picture of the Video pcb and how it is connected to the CPU board cause I don't know if I have the right one.
Thanks to All

I did not look super close to make sure you have the correct 2 boards, so assuming you do...

The second board on your post, the one with the finger board to connect to the cab's harness, is the "top" board. Quick glance I think its missing 2 things beyond the already mentioned EPROMS. One is the silver colored heat sink which should be to the upper right of your pic. The second is the connector for the ribbon cable that electrically connects the top and the bottom board. If you look at the pic of the other board you will see its mate at the lower right.

I did not look beyond that to see if other parts were missing.

I think he has a bootleg version. I have a dedicated cab, and several KC boardsets, and at least one looks like his version.

You can get those off MAWS:

As for "how it connects", it does so via the ribbon cable. The two component sides face away from each other, with standoffs between them...

Hi,
thanks for your replies. Now I start soldering. I have got the necessary info. When the board boots up I will post again. I cracked harder nuts in the past, I repaired alot of Pinball pcbs , 4 PolePosition pcbs (very hard) for the moment I have a double project (Galaga and KarateChamp). The best tool I ever saw.

Hi,
feel like in the old RollingStones song and I try, and I try, and I try. At last I found a second ROM set kchampvs US set 2 anywhere in the Mame area and this one matches. BINGO
Some are identical, but not all.
