Jason has definitely not worked on this recently. There's just not enough interest in this high score kit for him to spend his time working on it. I think only 5 or 6 people have any interest in it.

This is actually a somewhat challenging kit to do since the ROMs are encrypted.
It wouldn't be too too bad to half-ass it by hacking a little code and dropping in a DS1220, but to be done right, you really want a plug-in CPU module that runs fully decrypted code, which takes a LOT of code analysis, since you need to differentiate between instruction fetches and data reads.

...and the Z80 isn't socketed on most Karate Champs I've seen, so most people won't be able to install it themselves anyway. I don't know if the 6116/58725s are socketed or not... haven't picked up real hardware in a while.

After doing most of the work necessary to decrypt it (decrypted version seemed to play fine in MAME even though I haven't definitely determined whether some pretty large sections of the ROMs are code or data), I identified a big enough area of space in one of the ROMs that was a dupilcate of another ROM (likely an artifact of their development system) to implement the mods in the encrypted ROM set.

Still need to dig out a boardset and test it on real hardware,,,

Just because I call you out on getting a taste of your own medicine doesn't mean I don't like you nor does it mean that I don't want to help the KLOV community. If you choose to be angy about it, that's on you.

I've simply made an offer to send you a KC board to save you the trouble of having to dig one out yourself. If you don't need it, that's fine.

I've got a working kit on my board, but I don't have a cab to give it a good long burn-in test.

Haven't bothered to run custom boards since there isn't really all that much interest... maybe 10 kits tops.
