I recently picked up a Karate Champ with HORRIFIC burn in.

What are my best options to get the display back into "new' condition?

Are my options limited to buying a new LCD or swapping out a old monitor from another cab?

ANY other options?

Thanks,

IdahoFarmer

Do a bit of research on tube swapping.. Figure out the make and model of your monitor, like is it a wells gardener 4600/4900/etc or G07?

Find out if a local can help.. Or buy a replacement used monitor with light burn. As you'll never find a new one, at least an affordable new one.

Lcds blow ass in vintage games.

Agreed 100% on LCD = not acceptable.

Any source for old tubes for swapping besides old TVs? And online source?

If you're up for paying for shipping, I'm sure I could get a nice burn free tube out to you. I've got a nearly endless supply of 19" TV's a a local recycling center near me. Just picked up another 19" Sony XL100 tv on Friday, which I believe contains a compatible tube for a G07, 4600, 4900.

What type of monitor do you have in it? Take a picture of the monitor's PCB if you're not sure.

Locally, just hit craigslist, looking for '19 TV.' You should be able to find several of them for free. When you find them, see if you can get the giver to peek through the vents of the rear of the TV to get the tube number, then post the tube number here and I'll tell you if it's a swap candidate.
