Kansas City: K&M Amusements

Actually, Steve Levine (owns the auction) has Monty go in and work on games for him before the auction begins. Monty never sells games there.

thats not true at all

i have been at the auction while monty is unloading his stuff

i can recall 1 auction that monty brought 3 pinballs to
he said all had been gon thrue and were shoped out

one of them burst into flames before the auction started and i saw him have to repair it on site

Said in robot voice:
Cocky newbs must be destroyed :p

Actually, I'm not Monty's wife. I just happen to know of K & M Amusements. I'm thinking that discgolfer is probably Scott's wife and is trashing her competitor. As for the rest of you, shame on you. It's obvious that you all are like high schoolers in a "clique", who just enjoy trashing people you don't even know. You are a prime example of what is wrong with this world. I've known Monty for many years, and there is no better tech in Kansas City. And as a couple, they are wonderful people. Discgolfer, what you are saying is TOTALLY untrue! Monty never sells at the auction. And he would only repair games there that belonged to other sellers (at the request of Steve Levine). He has bought games there, but never sells. You people are going to believe whatever you want to believe, so I don't know why I'm even bothering with you. This forum is just a bunch of gossipers who love trashing good people. I'm going somewhere else. Good riddance.

I just wanted to throw in that I like how ironic this post is.

I like people who join here and then after 2 posts tell everyone to go f##k themselves and leave the forums.

+1

posting nasty ads on CL seems downright mean and is not something CL is all about

trashing people on KLOV and CL seems to be standard operating procedure with that bunch

sorry monty's wife ...... er uh i mean game girl lol

im not scotts wife

its kinda funny how you claim your not monty's wife and yet you reffer to me as being scotts wife

only monty's wife would make a comment like that

if you do end up reading this

i think all of us kc arcade guys would be verry happy if you started being a grown up and just listing your games and not trashing everyone else in town its bad for your biz and it hurts everyone else in town (big biz or home sellers)

and please stop posting the same damn game's that you have been trying to sell for 8 months every single day over and over
im really tired of sifting thrue 30 of your cl posts just to find a game worth buying

Ohhh poor baby. :p Let me take a guess here. You have someone and/or business that lists their over priced shit on CL for months on end and can't figure out that:
A.) They've over priced their stuff
B.) They need to run a REAL business and charge themselves rent for the space the game burns up (after all a buildings rent ain't free)
C.) Realize the bank loan has interest so the longer they over price it the longer it takes to sell
D.) They turn off potential buyers by re-listing this shit over and over without a price reduction?
E.) Think people are stupid and don;t realize it's them flagging other peoples ads
These people need to realize the name of the game is turn and burn.
I ran a killer business with 2 employees making 30K PROFIT every quarter. I charged myself X amount of dollars per square foot and tacked that on to the sale price of each item. I'd still be in business if the atrocity called 911 hadn't occurred. Made my money in quantity instead of trying to get top dollar up front for every piece. Gosh I miss those days (me sobbing.)

Anyways - this post of mine is 100% worthless. It won't stop these chuckle heads from pissing all of us off on a daily basis. All any of us can do is so our duty and click that link labeled SPAM/overpost link on CL. EVENTUALLY they'll either figure it out or they'll stop trying. (hopefully) ;)

I don't think that there's any clique here, I only know one other person on this board honestly. And I think Monty is a nice guy from his emails, and I'm guessing he does a good job, in fact I even sent some business his way before. This thread really isn't about him or his business, it was more about the constant spamming of the kc craigslist that was going on + the attacks on the kc gameroom warehouse that then spiraled out of control. Personally, it seems like K&M and the Gameroom warehouse are targetting the same people, if they could come to a truce and team up there could probably be some good mutual business between them. Because I'm sure there are far out jobs that the gameroom warehouse could pass to Monty and vice versa, plus I think the gameroom warehouse usually has a ton of work to do which Monty could probably contract for.

Just food for thought Monty's wife. :)

Do you feel better now that you've done your judging for the day? I sure hope so.

I'm not anyone's wife, but I can vouch for Monty selling things at auction, and said things catching fire :p

Edit: That said, I like Monty. He's a good guy, I don't care if he runs a business out of his garage. Just relax a bit on your CL posting, dude. :)

Exactly. The metro area is big enough that there doesn't need to be a pissing contest for business. No single person can service the entire area or repair every pinball machine and arcade game within 4+ counties. Treat each other nice and you'll find business sent your way.

As for cliques, this forum is very well behaved. Probably because members know and meet each other in real life. I've personally met and/or know at least five or six members. And I can vouch for the fact that discgolfer72 isn't Scott's wife. :)

Latest CL ad.

"i agree with a previous poster about this war between arcade companies in KC area. k & m amusements hasnt posted anything negative in a long time but suddenly the other attacker is still at it. the craiglist community needs to put a stop to the hate by flagging that post.

BTW, K & M amusements worked on my games and did a great job. but i dont care who is being attacked, it is wrong. Lets step up as a community and put a stop to it. "

I am not taking any sides here, but I don't recall KC Gameroom Warehouse "attacking" K&M. Is this more two-sided than I recall? There was what appeared to be an upset customer bashing K&M the last couple weeks.

dont fall for it. here's another ad:

a campaign to flag negative ads (kansas city)

Just as i thought the kc arcade/pinball war on craigslist was finally over, someone is trying to start another war with K & M Amusements. when is it going to end already? Stop misusing craigslist and stop making kansas city look bad! We are looking like a joke. the craigslist community needs to flag all of the negative ads.

Sounds like someone needs a WAAAAmbulance for eating too many french Cry's.

I would like to see more auctions, lower all around prices, and more KLOVers from the KC area to have more parties, or more arcades w/ vintage stuff (Dave & Busters is good and all, but we need more - classic pins, vids, skee-ball, 80s-90s music malt shop burger joints)

I've seen more posts from local KC KLOVers on this thread than on any in a while. I got some struff needed worked on, and I'm interested in trading out or paying out cash for services, but I'm more interested in the making of friends on the area, especially in the KS/Lawrence area.

I've been sick as of late, but as the new year gets on, it gets warmer and I'll be working on my games again. I'd love to talk shop with locals and play vids & pins with them instead of going to an auction & getting into a fistfight. I'm afraid of asking a noobie question with a thousand plus posts about pinball without picking a fight.

KC is blessed with the amount of collectors - Lets game & BBQ!

KC Gameroom is now local service to Lawrence, and some of my pins are in a friends garage over there. I'll probably call them first - more convenient.
