Watching Kansas City craigslists, I see a couple businesses offering to work on machines. One is K&M Amusements. It appears that there is someone (person or business) that is "at war" with them. Any idea who it is?

Not trying to start any bashing here, just curious.

kc gameroom warehouse

actuually k@ m has decided that kc game room is their arch rival and has been posting on top of their ads every time they post

k@ m has also been trashing their company left and right

i think k@ m has gotten scared because they opreate out of a shed at their house and kc gameroom has a huge waerhouse with tons of games

even when i post a game for sale that i need to get rid of k@m blasts an add right on top of mine (its like all they do is sit in front of their computer waiting for a arcade game to be listed)
they flood the crap out of cl

i think its kind of funny

me personaly will do biz with any other arcade repair/sale place excpt k@m just from the horror stories i have heard on the repair work from them
id rather shop palmentre

As discgolfer72 stated, K&M posts over people all the time on CL. I've also seen them do it to kcpinballshop.com and kcpinballrepair.com. Pretty childish in my opinion.

I have seen Monte from K&M at the Grandview auctions working on pins many of times. I have talked to him a time or two and he seems like a nice guy.

I purchased a TOM from Scott at KC gameroom out of his personal collection (I think) around the time he was starting his business. Scott seems like a hell of a good guy. He and one of his techs delivered my TOM late on a Saturday night and stuck around to get the two or three small problems fixed on the spot.

thats what OP's call "Auction ready" -----> buyer beware !

monty, he seems like a nice guy when he's not trashing other local businesses on CL

Yeah, it's gotten kind of out of control on the KC craigslist between K&M and the KC gameroom warehouse, it's pretty funny. K&M started the whole thing, and quite frankly he's acting pretty immature with his craigslist antics. I've emailed Monty before and he seems like a really nice guy, and I've talked with Scott several times, he's a really nice guy as well. I bought a couple games from the gameroom warehouse last year, and was really happy with both of them. Even went to the pinball tourney there a couple months ago, was really fun.

Not sure how much longer it's going to go on, but hopefully Monty comes to his senses at some point. Not likely though, lol. I do enjoy the "wire wiggler" vs. "tech team" battle. :)

Monty is a nice guy, but tends to be a bit overpriced. His wife handles all the computer stuff, he probably doesn't even know, heh.

You know, that's kind of funny that his wife does all the computer stuff, because I think Scott's wife does all of theirs. It's possible that neither one of them are even aware of the craigslist battle. :) Btw, what does Monty charge? All of his ads are all about 'saving YOU money', lol.

I think his repair work runs around $50/hr. The overpriced bit refers more to his machines for sale. Galaga for $900? Maybe in Canada...

How does Thunderball fit into all of this? I see thier ads also. Are they legit?

They're mainly just a consignment shop, i.e. local collectors bring games in there to sell. Some of the games are really nice, some aren't, but the guy that runs it (Ray) is super nice, great to deal with.

Ray at Thunderball is a nice guy. He hosted the last KC Area Pinball Association get together in December at his place, it was a lot of fun.

KC Gameroome Warehouse hosted the one before it in November, they did a nice job too and Scott was a great host.

I've never met Monty. He's probably a decent guy too but the CL antics are a little over the top in my opinion. The metro area is big but the pinball community is pretty small. Play nice, play pinball.

It's twice that here at the local retail place. ($1795 for Galaga, I mean)

That's surprising at $450 -- in nice shape they go for more than that from collector to collector.

It would seem to me that you would do that before getting to the auction, rather than give the impression that the machine needs work at the last minute??

Actually, Steve Levine (owns the auction) has Monty go in and work on games for him before the auction begins. Monty never sells games there.
