I appreciate you guys standing up for me. I do try and do the right thing and help out but obviously on this matter I helped out the wrong person and I have to deal with it. I just read through some of the ram posts and can not believe all the info that I am seeing especially with the name Adam Judd. At this moment I feel pretty stupid for falling into this scam because I usually pride myself in being able to sniff out shady people. I also thought that Dave, Adam or whoever was a pretty good guy and a decent friend but now I know differently. I hope steph can get what is coming to him as well as the rest of the people that are owed money. I got mine in form of ram parts which i'm finding out are basically worthless.

Thanks for stepping in on the thread. Everyone is gun shy and on edge about the whole situation. There have been threads about Adam/David/aliasoftheweek stealing from people as far back as 1999 and it probably goes back even further.

Right now it's guilty until proven innocent if you call him a friend. I think if we can get the authorities to weigh in and investigate/prosecute the whole fraudulent mess then everyone can relax and start being friendly again.

But, I hate to say it... you'll still be involved in that mess for letting him use your PayPal account for funneling money.

Just to add my 2 cents.

Kalan did contact me several months with offers to help,
and has done so again today.

I think he regrets his connections with Dave/Adam,
but really had little, if any, knowledge of the extent of Dave/Adam's scam.
 
fuck, we all regret it.. pisses me off more and more, about all the phone conversations with dave.. all of it lies, just total fucking made up shit. even trivial shit you wouldn't even NEED to lie about. God, it's crazy enough shit he may not be competent enough to stand trial.

I too wanted to hear Kalans side... the guy seemed like a good dude at CAX... but having any dealings with Dave/Adam instantly brings suspicion. Please don't get too pissed at Savit Kalan... you have to realize that with all the crazy shit that has come to light about this situation over the last couple days that EVERYONE is suspect. I am guessing your explanation went quite away to satisfy the fears/questions that Savit and others (like myself) had.
 
Honestly, when I found out where the money went for my pre-order long after the fact I was shocked since a couple years before I actually went to Kalan's place and purchased a game and he seemed like a straight up guy. That discovery was very puzzling to me.
 
I appologize for maybe pulling you into the scheme. You do realize that when you associate with people like this you become guilty by that reason, be it right or not. I hope you are being straight with everyone, it is just really tough to trust anyone anywhere close to anything RAM related. Thanks for speaking out. Again I meant no harm just trying to help get money and parts back to the people who deserve it.

Yeah...Kalan's a good guy. Gave me a Tempest when I was going through all the chemo crap. That still blows my mind that he did that.
 
I think the fact that Kalan showed up at CAX and talked to lots of people says a lot. It says to me that his conscience is clear and if he did do anything "wrong", it was unintentional and he was really just sort of caught in the crossfire. I think the main problem people had was some of his reactions when people were upset about his paypal being attached to RAM. It did look bad, but if Kalan was truly innocent, then you can see why he might have reacted the way he did. I don't see any reason to ban him.

Your initial response was correct, we have had personal contact and I should have called any one of a number of KLOVers I know who have your number, got it and called you. I'm sorry I did not do that. If I had, I would have learned as you stated here of your (lack of) current connection to RAM. I hope that this information is helpful to others who might have had lingering questions too and hopefully will bring some closure to you in this respect as well, as I certainly understand how having this resurface is frustrating to you. It is nice to see people with personal knowledge step up and add their commentary too. I had totally forgotten about the Wish Tempest, that was certainly a very nice thing for you to have done. I think having looked into the situation a little further and returning with this thoughtful response here will reflect positively on yourself as well. My goal was to help others, not to create an enemy, so I hope you can look past my misstep in handling this yesterday.
 
I'll say this......I personally threw Kalan's name in these mess of posts a few times. I do not know Kalan, have never met him, or ever had any transactions with him (that I can remember). My reasoning.....he was one more names associated with Ram Controls. I think we can all agree, having YOUR Paypal account linked to Ram Controls.....makes you look very "in" with the rest of the Ram group. I remember the thread ArcRevival is referencing.....Kalan's reactions to the questioning.....didn't leave me with a positive feeling about him. Then you add this entire Ram/Dave/Adam/Jan/Errol/Dan/Jim mess.....Kalan remained silent, and remained silent until a thread was started about him! On the outside looking in, this all looked very bad for Kalan.

I am glad Kalan finally stepped up and explained his story/answered questions. He's the only one in this mess that actually answered specific questions. That goes a long way in my book....and your story is very believable/plausible. I'm not 100% convinced (sorry....it's gonna take time), but you're on the right track.

There's really only one aspect that still bugs me.......for the life of me....I can't wrap my head around why you would give ANYONE access to your Paypal account. I'm not trying to be a jerk, or an asshole.....that issue, just bugs me. I'm just being honest with how I feel.....I truely mean no malice intent.

You and me both. The very fact that someone ASKS to use your paypal account SCREAMS trouble is headed your way.
 
Ive only ever talked to Kalan through PM's, and have always thought he was a good guy. Seeing many come here to his defense only strengthens that view I have of him. Now, I'd marry him if he'd sell me that 720.
 
I want to say that I personally think Kalan is a good person. The Tempest that he gave Wish was a very cool thing to do. I think he made a poor decision by letting Ram use his paypal, but I dont believe he was involved more than that. He made it right when he found out he had recieved other peoples boards from Dave/Adam/Dan/Jim or whoever the fuck he really is.

I have purchased items from Kalan in the past, and have talked with him on the phone a few times. Innocent people get sucked into bad situations all the time, thats what I believe happened here.
