Picked up a Pong around '94 or so, around '99 I moved it and when I turned it on the monitor didn't work. Ignored it for a while (I mean, it's PONG), now I have an urge to mess with it and get it working. Sooo, what does the problem look like going by the pic? I can see some movement on the screen, can hear the game playing when I coin it up. Vertical collapse? Has an MGA/Mitsubishi TV in it, anyone specialize in fiddling around and fixing old TVs? Maybe I should update it with an LCD! Kidding.

I can't completely tell by the picture but is it rotated sideways? If so then yes, that's vertical collapse. The nature of a Pong pcb means it probably sends a composite signal out so it's probably an issue on the t.v., can you hook another t.v. up to it and see if that's the issue? There's probably a couple identical transistors in the t.v. that make up the vertical deflection circuit but it could be resistors and caps in the vertical section as well... I think I've seen people on here talking about repairing those specific televisions before, so if you google it you'll probalby find similar issues that somebody's repaired on that model.
