I have a 33" Wells K8000 that is getting no neck glow. I replaced the voltage regulator but still nothing. I do have power up to the power board and both fuses meter out good but nothing down the line. I have heard that there is little documentation on these but some of you smart guys should be able to point me in the right direction! Thanks.

I think even the smart guys stray away from these. :(

I'm sure Chad knows something, but he's VERY busy lately.

I was afraid of that. Maybe I'll have to go with a $375 flat screen 32" TV and a convertor. Lots of money but it will get the game up and running.

interesting. only one 25" model ran standard res.

that's an even more broke pimp manual than the Hantarex Polo one. :p

Have you checked the main deflection board for cold solder? 8000/3000's are notorious for that sort of thing.

I just scanned my Atari TM-363 WG 25K8104 manual if anyone wants a copy of it shoot me an e-mail.
I need to figure out how to scan with good quality but smaller size still. So this file is 20 pages but like 8.65MB.
I don't know how much of it will relate to a 33", but may be worth taking a look.
(honestly, I have never seen a 33" version myself)

Here's a question: Would I be smarter to just get a used 32" TV (locally $200) and buy a converter? That way, I don't have to ever worry again about being able to fix this darn old K8000. By the time the TV goes, the replacement will probably be even cheaper. Please advise. Thanks.

really depends on what game you're using it for. I can tell you for sure that games like Midway's (Y-unit, T-unit, Wolf, from personal experience) all do weird stuff cause they run at 53 KHz vertically I guess with my JROK board. I have another one of those cheesy chinese knockoffs that do something similar.

everything else should be ok though. please note that with TV monitors you have no picture adjustments for the H/V-size and H/V-pos, I guess unless you dig into the deep hidden settings of your TV.

I wouldn't be opposed to something like this though, personally, cause I have a 33" Showcase with a Polo... I don't know its history. it might last 2 weeks and it might outlive me. we'll see. :p

unfortunately... I'd intended on running fighting games in it. lol

my JROK board is just the composite/S-video one. if you got a real nice TV with RGB, he makes an RGB board that probably looks fucking awesome.

This would be going into a Ridge Racer that has obviously had an attempted fix already. The chassis is not the original and I don't want to keep sinking $$ into a lost cause. The two 32" TVs available right now in my area are an Apex with PIP for $175 and an RCA in "Like New" condition for $200. Any and all advice is appreciated on which converter/TV to get and/or what to look for. Thanks.
