this should be fun. picked up this monitor and looks rough. it was in HV shut down. pulled D10 to disable shutdown and then it blew the fuse! changed out the flyback and a handfull of caps so far and the HOT with no luck. I noticed after the fuse blew I checked it in circuit and tested good, pulled it and bad, tested the fuse holder and it beeped my meter. here are some pics it looks to be a mess LMK what you guys think. also did a little reflowing and continuty checks.

good i am not the only one having issues with theses chassis.:D

but it is good to know that all the jumpers on yours are the same as mine.:)

your C56 looks to be in wrong but it may just be the caps plastic coating is off.

if it is popping the fuse check all the usual HV caps, diodes, H.O.T. and what not.

i have found that if it is in HV shutdown and everything else is good.
pull D10 if it fires up solder it back in and it is still in HV shutdown. your VR is bad even tho it tests good, it is actually bad.

had that happen on two of the ones i am working on rite now.

my issue is that they now work but i have a image and it has 4 of the same images on the screen and is interlaced with 1" or so lines over the entire screen. it's weird looking like it is a VGA signal instead of a med res signal i will have to make a video. i am assuming that golden tee 5 is a std and med res game when you flip the switch and not a VGA signal:confused:

good luck on the repair.

do a full cap out and re-flow so you know what you have in there is good.

Peace
Buffett

well I have high voltage, checked c38 and was shorted. popped a new one in and got the static we all love to hear. now onto the vertical collapse, knew this one was going to be a pain. my desoldering gun set on fire so I will have to wait for a new one to continue with this one.

is it bad that at first glance in that picture I knew that was Rampage? :D

I love the model #. you know what else is a K7600? a friggin 33" U5000. man these people suck.

there, that's my contribution. good luck. :)

ok you spotted the rampage but can you name the rest, they all can be I.d. if you look close enough
the 7300 model number was also used for the 27 inch k7000's I recently discovered.

har. Mr. Do, Tetris, Centipede, Ms. Pac, Pole Position and I believe Paperboy.

sorry, had to look at the big picture for that. :(

I'll admit I'm not totally hip on Atari stuff (played a lot when I was like... 4, but now I don't dig on them so much), so that's within a margin of error.

rework ont the medium rez chassis is usually twice as hard than regular k7000's. I have seen them altered from factory spec. examples are incorrect width coils to poly prop cap mods. if you hit a dead end, want it repaired & reconditioned once right feel free to send it in. if new lytics and poly caps bring it down to $100 shipped. best wishes!.

thanks for the offer chad, I think I was the first to touch this chassis since the dag wire was never cut, if I cant do it I will send it in but I hate to fail at these things and rarely give up.

got it up and running, Ic3 and some reflowing and a couple vertical pots and called it a day.
picture was off my st. res test rig so the picture wont be right but im happy with it.
