Got a k7500 that I cannot get to sync. I can get it to slow down but it is rolling diagonally. I have checked for cold solder joints, swapped remote boards, checked the h. hold pot, and changed D700. No change.

Any ideas?

Check Q700 and the trace around C732. Sometimes C732 gets bumped and it breaks the trace from the pad.

Also, check Z700 as it will cause sync to go out, too.

Here are some repair logs of this (and similar) models I've repaired recently, including some with sync issues:

BTW - if this hasn't been capped - do so. I just spent a lot of time tracing an issue that turned out to be a simple cap replacement. A Bad cap can cause this, too...

Just swapped Q700 and now have a stable picture. Now it looks like I have a pincushion problem.

This is the 27" version out of a Rush. From my quick reading, it looks like the 27" had a pincushion board? I dont see one.

Thanks a lot for all the help so far.

Well I stole one of of another k7500 and it looks like I got most of it out.

The monitor definitely needs a cap kit and possibly a rejuv.
