Hey everyone!
I'm working on a Wells 27in. K7500 that I just picked up recently. Original problem was the screen was jumping vertically with vibrations (when using steering wheel, buttons, and just tapping it on the side of the cabinet). I figured it was a bad vertical position pot on the remote board. Replaced the 2K ohm one with a 4K ohm one that I had on hand. This fixed the issue of the screen jumping but now the pot will not do anything when I try to adjust it. I'm trying to fill the screen vertically since there is a 1.5 inch gap on the top.
If anyone knows what I need to look for on the board with the vertical position please let me know.
Thanks!

Brad

I hope it's that simple. I'll get a new pot ordered tonight. Usually with my luck it isn't that simple. :)

When you installed the 4K ohm pot you doubled the resistance. With the doubled resistance you can't get it low enough for the adjustment to have any effect.

Not beating you up hear but always replace a pot or resistor with the same resistance value. However a higher wattage is okay. But not a lower wattage.

yup replace the pot with the correct value.

let's hope you did not over drive something and burn something else up.

please update us with your results.

if you need parts i have them.

if you need it fixed, your welcome to send it in.

Hey guys! I replaced the pot with the correct one from Security0001 and I'm getting the same results. The vertical position will not move at all.
It's tolerable but kind of driving me nuts that there is a inch on the top of the screen that isn't filled.
Anyone have an idea on where to look on the board for the vertical position?
Thanks!

Brad

sounds like a resister in the vertical circuit may be burned up.

use the schematics and start looking for an open resister or shorted/open transistor.

if you hit a brick wall and need it fixed, your welcome to send it in.

Got it fixed! R629 had cold solder, resoldered and everything is working well. Thanks everyone for your help!
