I just acquired a "working" (haven't tested yet as I have no compatible K7500 yoke, only K7400) K7500 that is missing the transistor for the 3-pin red connector to hook to. What is that transistor for? Also, can this easily be converted to STD res?
It connects to a transistor that was mounted on the frame, that controls the pincushion. You can turn it on without the transistor, you'll just have bowed edges to your screen. I've accidentally done it many times.
You can't convert that board to standard resolution, sorry... I do believe, though, that the yoke is the same as the 7400. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure they're the same part number.
EDIT: I looked it up. The U2000, U5000, and 7400 all have the same yoke, the 7500 is different.

Thanks. I don't have any Med res games at the moment anyway. Bought this chassis on a whim because it was a good price. Is there a part number for that transistor in case I decide to use this chassis in the future?
If you hook it up to a 2000/5000/7400 yoke the image will be squashed vertically to about 6 inches and will look weird but you'll be able to see if the chassis fires up.
