I did a cap kit on a k7500 but found I was missing the last three caps. Plugged it back in and everything was great until about 10 minutes in when the focus would drop out. So I ordered a flyback and the missing three caps. I installed them today and now about one quarter of the left side of the screen is dark. If I turn the brightness up I can see that the missing part of the image is being drawn.

I know the K7500 has that little black wire that is supposed to be wrapped around the flyback. I think I did it correctly. I took photo of a mock up of what i did with the wire using the old pulled flyback. photo of the screen and the mock up attached.

Anyone got an idea what I need to do here?

there's a black wire that's supposed to be wrapped around the core of the flyback. look up pictures of K7500s to see how it's oriented.

I wrapped it like it was on there originally. You think my demo picture with the red wire is wrong? I will dig up some photos to double check.

my flybacks should not have the wire wrapped around the ferrite core but i am not sure about other vendors flybacks. where did you buy it??

When you have that problem you need to wrap the wire the other direction on the ferrite of the flyback.

That should fix your problem.

LOL....I was having the same problem a week ago. On the new flybacks on what I was told you don't even need that black wire at all and mine works! Hope this will help you out as well :)

For anyone who was wondering - The folks here who suggested that the wires needed to simply be wrapped the other direction.... where spot the heck on.

Thanks everyone!!
