I have a k7300 working chassis hooked to a A48KRD82X tube with bad green gun.

I also have a dead K7000 chassis hooked to a great A48ACB24X tube.

Is this a straight swap?

The tube... yes.

The yoke... will have to check impedance (or Ohms) difference between the two. There's threads around that may have them listed, but I just don't recall off the top of my head.

Yoke

Almost 100% sure the yoke is a straight swap.. Pull the yoke connector and take an ohm reading.. Should be 2.3ish and 12.5ish

As long as your close your safe!

I've done that swap. The yoke connectors might be different, depending on the type of machine the monitor was designed for, but you can easily splice the old connector from the K7xxx on there.

It should work just fine.

Save that K7xxx yoke, though. What's wrong with the K7000?

yea just fix the K7000.

have you done any thing to it yet.

do you need it to be repaired?

i would they are great chassis.

Peace

Will do tomorrow, beer tonight

K7000 needs just a fly but Bob is out and I want to sell off a 60 in 1

So did I

I just checked (3) on my bench, all original k7000 tubes.. All of them were over 11.5 ohms.. Not sure what you have there, maybe they had different versions? Or it's not an original tube.

Yours is what you say, but out of the 20plus tube swaps I've done with k7000s.. None have been even close to 6ohms.

Here are the pics

I am going to go out on a limb and say... I don't think you have a 7000 yoke there looking at the pics. Not only is the wire color wrong, I have never seen gray plastic on a 7000 yoke either.

This is a Zenith made K7000:

I did a K7000 tube swap about 2 weeks ago. Here is the info/weblinks I used to do it. Its was a easy swap although my picture was upside down and the images was reversed like you was looking at billboard through the review mirror of your car. After a few more Busch Lights and baffled I tried rotating the tube 180deg. That didn't work.... LOL Info to resolve the image issue is below. INFO FROM Junknet.Net

1. What I used to cross reference the tubes to see if they would match up.

2. Screen image reversed and or upside down? Try this

Backwards Picture - If you get either an upside-down picture or a backwards/mirror-image picture, each half of the yoke plug can be reversed to correct it. If the picture is upside down, reverse the red/blue wires by cutting the plug in half and spinning JUST the red/blue side. If the picture is backwards or a mirror-image, spin JUST the yellow/green side. Again, do not reverse the two halfs (red/blue where yellow/green should be) - if you do, fireworks will ensue!

Based on some yoke markings, I have a K7000 Series 19" large neck 9A2919-001 (Arcadecup.com)

My 7300 neck board socket doesn't fit.

Huh?? To my knowledge, the 7300 was a 10 pin fat neck.

If you truly have a fat neck K7000, then the neck board should fit.

Can you post pics of your 7300 neck socket and the nipple of the tube?
