What's this wire wrapped around my flyback? My new one doesn't have it, do I need to desolder it and loop it through the same way?

What should the B+ be and where do I check it?

then why does it look to me you have your black ground wire on pin 9 of the sync pin and the yellow wire of the sync grounded on the ground pin 4.

looks like a conflict of interest to me.

what monitor was in there before?

check to see if the wire colors correspond to what your game pinout is.

that screams to me that your sync and ground are still mixed up.

Even though the wires are exactly the same as before I did caps and flyback?

The sync and ground are the two I pointed at, correct?

i also have a dedicated rampage and i don't have half of the wires you do in my video cable.
it is in storage not near me so i cannot get any pics.

you really need to check your pinout in the manual for the video cable coming off the PCB.

your red, green and blue look correct.

all the others look totally wrong, many midway cabs are like yours and NONE of them use a black wire for Sync, it is brown, bare, black or grey normally.

This is the pinout according to the manual.

OK. from your pics and that image, you do not have it wired correct at the monitor.

your colors are ok but your ground and sync wires are still wrong.

trace the pinout from the GAME PCB, NOT the monitor and let us know what wires are in what position.

I'll trace the wires when I get home, does anyone know what they are coming off of the pcb?

When I moved the red wires to the new flyback I popped the metal clip off the side, slid the circled part up, slid the wire in and put it back together. Did I screw anything up when I did that?

if you did that to the new flyback than you could have messed up the windings that are around that. for future reference don't take the clip off new flybacks and especially don't slide move the ferrite core.

It was the new one

D'oh!

Could me ruining my flyback be part of my sync issue?

I reflowed a few spots and went over my work and didn't see anything obviously wrong or out of place. put it back in and no change, so for shits n giggles, I put in the K7901 chassis from my Outrun and it worked great, for a few minutes. It had a slight red tint to it but it was stable. I was adjusting V size and position and the screen went black so I unplugged it, plugged it back in and it was unsynced nonadjustable mess. The only other thing I noticed was a weird "distortion" at the top, about an inch thick. It wasn't warped or changing the colors but kind of like a strip of clear tape on the screen.

I officially give up, I'll be sending it out once i free up some funds.

dumb question.

is there an ISO in the cab?

the K7000 requires one the 72xx does not.

if you powered up the K7000 without one it will damage the chassis.
