I've got a 25'' K7000A that has had a tiny sync issue since it was recapped (a small amount of curl at the top of screen) I decided to pull the connector and double check it today and have since lost all sync. Below is a pic of what I have now.

I also have a question about the proper way for this connector to be wired, as the cabinet was in a non working state when I received it. The connector is 9 pins, and on one side is red, green, blue, ground, and on the far end is one sync wire split into the last two pins. This connector has seen better days, and i'd like to replace it. Can anyone share what size header pins this is for so I can search out a replacement?

What game do you have it connected to? For the K7000A, you should only have the sync connected to the last pin if it is a JAMMA or negative composite sync game.

And adjusting the horizontal hold does nothing?

are you sure the sync connector isnt plugged on backwards or one pin off?

also try it backwards or one off, ops did stupid krap like that all the time.

also check those pins for cold solder.

I rebuilt this chassis, so I did all that already. His only issue was a tiny bit of horizontal tearing on the top, and I had suggested adjusting the pots to get it out, since it didn't show this issue when tested on my WG K7000 tube and yoke...

The sync was in a 3 pin molex. It had one wire jumpered to connect to the last to pins of the connector. I unplugged this connector in trying to diagnose a tiny bit of curl, and when I plugged it back in I have what is shown in the pic. It was annoying before, and is unusable now.

I currently have one of the 1xxx in one multi jammas in it, but i've also swapped in a couple cps boards and it looks the same.

Post a pic of how you have it connected. What happens when you adjust your horizontal hold?

The second pic shows the the way the wire is hitting two pins. Like I mentioned earlier though, this connector looks a little rough for wear, and i've never really liked this style... but i'm new to monitors, so maybe this is the norm.

In the second pic, the sync should only be going to the left pin, not the middle pin - that is, if you have this connected to a JAMMA board...

Well... there's certainly something bad going on in that connector. After taking the pic and putting it back together, I was able to adjust the sync, but now I can't get the v hold in check. It looks perfect for about 30 seconds, then the pic rolls up or down about 2 inches and stops.

Modessit- still think I should disconnect that wire?

Thanks for your help guys, think i'm gonna make a sandwich or something for a few minutes, else i'm likely to start working on this thing with a hammer.

Yep. That wire is connected to the vertical sync pin. On a negative composite sync game (like JAMMA), you only connect the horizontal on that chassis. Just shift the connector one spot to the right so that the middle wire is on the last pin and the last one (jumpered) isn't on any pin. That should do it...

Shifted the connector over. Looks like i've got the sync issue solved, but now I can't seem to get v hold to settle down. I get it to what seems like perfect, and it's fine for several minutes, but then it slides up or down a few inches. I've repeated this about 4 times now, is there any trick to this?
