Hey guys,

Need some help please.

The 19" K7000 monitor on my Galaga cabinet is giving me some trouble. It has new caps and a new Flyback and has worked fine for a month since I had the work done but tonight it started going in and out if focus. Any idea what could be causing this? I have guests over and had to cut play time short which bummed everyone out :(

Thanks in advance.

loose focus wire connection at the neckbord, bad solder joint on the flyback, defective flyback, possible tube issue..

Checked the focus wire at the neck board and its solid. Solder on the Flyback seem solid and nothing really looks out of place. I did notice if I adjust the focus knob on the Flyback it fixes the issue for a short period of time but continues to go in and out of focus every few minutes but not as a bad as before. Possible bad Flyback? I bought the kit from Bob Roberts. Is there Ny warranty on these things?

No, there's generally not a warranty on these.

There were a batch of bad K7000 flybacks a while back, perhaps this is one of them.

Reflow all the solder on the neck pcb.. Also reflow all the solder on the flyback.

K7000 original tubes are pretty soft, so you could have a tube on its way out..
Also, these flybacks aren't the best quality, so you could just have a defective one.. A batch of flybacks for k7000s a few years ago were defective, but usually blew a hole or just didn't work.. I highly doubt that you got one of those, as bob goes through his stock quickly. But that doesn't mean you didn't receive a bad one.. Shoot bob an email after you do the couple of steps mentioned in the beginning of this post.
