142v on one side and 175v on the other. I just got done replacing IC4 because it was bad and the monitor didn't come up at all before. Now it's working (picture looks quite good) but I obviously want to make sure the B+ is right. It's a 19" so should be 123v. I also just did a cap kit. B+ was the same before and after the cap kit.

I checked to make sure the back of IC4 was properly insulated (I assume the voltage on both sides of the resistor would have been the same otherwise?) and it is not shorted.

Also I don't imagine it's too relevant, but over the course of the first minute of turning the monitor on both voltages gradually rise by a few volts.

So what should I be looking at?

Do you have another VR you can put into the board? The one thats in it is either bad or your missing a load some where.

You sure your meter isnt going whacky?

+1 theyll usually shut down if its way high like that. DO you have another meter you c an verify your readings with? what pn regulator are you using?

Bingo! The low battery indicator was lit. Popped in a new battery and read 123.9v. Never would have guessed in a million years that it was my meter. I always assumed that, being digital, it would either work or not work. It's a little disappointing to realize that my trusty BK that I've had since college isn't quite as trustworthy as I thought. I guess this would imply that down at "normal" voltages such as 5 it would be off by a tenth or two. You can bet I won't ignore the low battery indicator any more!

Thanks guys!
