Took out a burnt G07 from my Missile Command. I believe MC used seperate positive H and V sync. On the G07 only the 6 pin plug was used. R G B Gr +v +h is how that goes right?

So I have a K7000 with minimal burn. I swap it in, hook things to the +sync and I get no picture. If I move either sync wire to a any negative sync pin on the K7000 I get a picture but it will drift vertically never locking down.

I try every possible combination of jumping sync wires and I remeber that I have a spare K7000 chassis out in the shop. I grab that, swap it over and I get the same thing.

What am I missing here? Is MC negative sync? If so, why wasnt it connected to the g07 that way. If it is positive sync, why will the K7000 not fire up unless a sync is connected to a -sync pin?

Scratching my head....

try connecting both togther to the last sync pin furthest away from the rgb connector..

also make sure you have a video ground wire hooked up k7000s dont like running without them

Well crapola, it appears I broke the sync on my MC board.

I put the G07 back in, and guess what? No more sync..

Haha, holy crapola. I need to stop trusting my memory when I unpin a connector. I had a ground and sync pin mixed up the whole time!

I looked carefully at the schematic and realized my error. Gee-whiz. Thanks Cadillacman for the help. Also BitSlicer told me to double check all my connections via PM.

HA.. been there...

also been bit in the past by ops who wired the connector backwards then jammed it on backwards... so then comes me putting everythng back prolerly then krap happens...

or when a connectors hooked up one pin foward that got me once too...

glad you figured it out and very glad to hear your pcbs are ok....

Obligitory cell phone pic. Not bad for starting out as a $150 non-worker.... New ball, rollers, bearings, and cones thanks to RAM controls. CPO and braze multigame from Arcadeshop. PCB by BitSlicer, and a not so terribly burnt K7000.

Looks like she might deserve new T-Molding now.
