I have been repairing my very large stack of K7000 chassis and I just came across something that I have never seen before.

The chassis (25" model) had a ECG1742 installed. According to the NTE site this cross references to a STR3130. However, the housing is actually the same as the STR30130. This board does not have a hold down hole punched for the STR3130 or the onboard jumpers that are used to switch between the STR3130 and STR30130 so I believe this part was factory installed. I did a quick search and didn't find this info so I figured I'd post it.

The ECG1742 looks like a 3130 to me.

Is yours a P538 chassis?
Got a pic of that area where the jumpers would normally be?

Well here's something to chew on....since you mentioned the jumpers not being there.

These are both P538 chassis, one appears to be an older run, the other looks like the typical ones.

One with a 3130 -
The older one does NOT have the option/jumpers to change between a 3130 and 30130.
You can see it has only two holes for mounting the 3130 transistor, and there are no jumpers or holes in the pcb to accommodate the difference in leg spacing.

One with a 30130 -
The standard (newer) looking one has the jumpers, has the extra hole in the center for mounting a 30130, and two sets of holes in the pcb to accommodate the difference in leg spacing.

Actually it was the smaller package with five legs, and the fifth one cut off just like the larger package.

Weird.....the fifth leg is not used anyways. But I have not seen one where the leg was cut off, it's usually just in a dead hole.

So are there any holes in the pcb itself for the larger style transistor?
(larger solder holes, wider spacing)
