Originally the K7000 picture was dim but not real dim and the left side of the screen would wave a little on the picture.

I did a cap kit then the picture got really dim. The only way to see it is if the brightness is all the way down and the contrast is all the way up.

I then put in a new flyback and that did not help. I also reflowed everything I could.

It seems like the picture keeps getting dimmer.

What should I do next?

Thank you;

Brad

if you are getting wite raster like that then you have other problems.

the screen circuit is working fine.

you have a problem with the video processing circuit.

what does it look like with a color test screen.
after you try and color and wite balance it.

check R91/92.

if they are good then you may have a cracked trace somewhere.

beyond that i would have to see the chassis to fix it.

OK so here is where I am with this, I rechecked my cap kit and I did see that I had some soldered points touching. I get a picture but it is still very dim. One thing I did notice is that it seems the connections from the remote board to the chassis are not strong. Is there a way to just make this a K7000 without the remote board?

FYI I know it is not the tube I have tried a couple different cabinets.

yes post a pic to be sure but you can take the remote wires off and solder pots to the chassis.

i would leave it stock and fix it rite before i did that mod.

if they all ohm out correct then leave the remote board attached.

sounds like a cold solder joint or a break in one of them.

it is gonna take time to find the fault.

Here is a pic of what it looks like now. It looks like the contrast is too low but it's as high as it will go. I replaced the pot for it already.

use your meter and see if you have continuity.

or just desolder each pad and re-flow.

you do not want a bridge.

glad you got it fixed.

when it happened to me on some repairs i got in it was a bear to find.

i have had that exact issue twice in the last month.
