I just picked up a Off-Road Challenge that was missing the monitor chassis. I found WG1438217 on the frame and picture tube is a 25" Zenith A63AGD01X. I found a working 25K7184 chassis. Will it work?

as long as the tube is 10 pin and the yoke matches a k7000, yup..

do me a favor and ohm the yoke out for me. I can check my indy heat( same cab , has k7000 monitor in it) and if our readings match or are close then youll be good to go. .

now some of those k7000 chassis are 8 pin some are 10 pin on the neckboard, as wells used both 8 and 10 pin tubes, with 10 pin bieng the most common. make sure the chassis you are buying has the correct neckboard to match your tube... even if not, neckboards can be found around the forums... i might even have some spares... and they arent too hard to change out

Thanks.
As far as I can tell it looks like the original chassis was a K7193 or K7191. I'll check the yoke. I hope it's still good. The person I got it from just had a chassis rebuilt and installed it in the wrong machine. They hooked up a fresh 39K7601 to it. I could smell the burn. Now I need to fix it also.

well im retarded... for some reason i thought super off road=off road challenge.. my bad there man..

its supposed to be med res yes according to debbie...

" its a med res

I just found a tag on top (why would they put it there?) of the monitor frame. I stuck a mirror up there and was able to read it. It's a 25k5108.

So what chassis should I be looking for? Yoke readings are 1.6 & 4.7

Sounds like a U5000. That is a dual-res chassis. It had some issues (probably why it is missing) and they later ended up offering K7500 (med-res) replacement chassis/yokes for it to operator's who didn't want it any more..

damn man just sold one too(27" version of a u5000).. went to a local op cheap...

you prolly wont find a working u5000 chassis, at least not cheap. You might be better off finding a used neotec or old nanao etc .. i guess what im saying id youll prolly have better luck finding a good used monitor complete versus finding a working u5000 chassis.

put a want ad out tho, you never know.
