So using Bob Roberts' monitor ID page I think I have a K7000. I attached a picture, in case I am wrong. When you click through on to the K7000 cap map, Bob says 'Do not hook up your composite sync to both H & V on this chasis. Use H only! Leave V empty'.
Well my chasis has them both tied together- that's how it was when I got it and it works kind of ok.
I am going to try my first cap kit on this thing. Do you think I should disconnect the composite sync from the V?
Thanks.

Ok, I just disconnected the V.

The only change is that the curl that the top of the picture went from curling to left to now curling to the right.
The image is fairly good but has some light jail bars on the left side. Does it sound like both issues could be solved with capacitors?
Thanks again.

It's a horizontal monitor with top curl. Pardon my ignorance, but what is V lin? Vertical size or position or a combination of the two?
Thanks again for your help.

Will light ghosty jail bars be helped by a cap kit?

Yes video ground is hooked up well.

They are kind of faint light ghost jail bars- not really total Nintendo 20EZ jail bars. They are light and wider and on the left side of the monitor.

For what it's worth - Bob's info about the sync wiring is actually for NEGATIVE composite sync. if your monitor is using positive sync, then don't change it.

2nd - if you've had this monitor working in this game before, and you had the wiring that way, don't change it now.

3rd - if you haven't rebuilt it yet, you might want to do so....

Check, Check and Check.

I'm going to order the cap kit with some part tonight.
Thanks.
