So was dialing in this monitor I built last month. Its a 19" K7000 (CR31 [skinny neck] version) matched to a awesome reading TV tube. All new cap kit + Flyback from APAR. After rebuild tested it for a bit on the new tube swap. I could tell it was going to work (and looked beautiful considering I had the yoke just randomly popped on), so I was happy and put it to the side until today to adjust it (purity, convergence, etc..).

So turned it on, all was well. Set purity rings and began to slide the yoke back forward to the "sweet spot" when I began to hear a weird Tszzzzz sound. It was not HV electrical thank god, no sparks, no smoke, nothing like that, but it scared the shit out of me all the same ! lol I noticed while it was doing that the screen also was doing odd random things.. but it stopped and continued to work normal. So I continued. It then did it again but this 2nd time it did what I got a pic of attached. And now this is all it does. And no weird sound.

No adjusting helps, no knobs helps, no turning off/back on helps... nothing helps, this is what it shows now 100% of the time.

So let me help you know what you are seeing, its a red line, yes, because that is a solid red pattern screen showing. When I switch through the TPG screens this line changes accordingly. So its like the entire screen went blank except this tiny skinny middle portion. Curious if this is common ? If so what is it ? And how do I fix it ? And is this odd to happen to a newly rebuilt chassis ? All caps are new.

Any input appreciated, thanks !
