My 25 inch k7000 started making a burning smell and lost verticle deflection. I pulled the chassis and inspected and found r80 is smoked. There is a resister under the board at r80 also. Is this normal, or did someone add that resister to repair the one on top the board? What causes r80 to burn out?

Any components soldered/installed on the foil side of the board was done by Wells-Gardner at the factory as part of the _undocumented_ production improvements.

Loss of vertical deflection is usually because IC3 is shorted.

Do you know what the value is of r80 for a 25 inch k7000, and what about the resister mounted on the foil side, it's burned also? Would this cause the loss of verticle deflection?what could burn out these resisters?

See the schematic here:

The value of that resistor is slightly different depending on whether you have a 7191 or 7193 monitor. The values are shown in a box at the lower right corner of the schematic.

The resistors probably burnt because the vertical output IC is shorted.

Ok I've got a 7191 , so I'll pick up that r80 and the voltage regulator, but I need to know the value of the resister at r80 on the foil side of the board. It is burned beyond recognition and it's not in the schematic or the manual that I can see. Does anyone know it's value?
