My K7000 med res went into HV shutdown and I'm having problems finding the problem.

I've followed the flow chart and have read many threads but my B+ is stuck at 160VDC

I found R89 to be way off spec and had cold solder joints. I replaced it and no change.

I have gone over the chassis and cannot find any other bad looking solder areas and I've checked for continuity on most traces.

The fuse does not blow. The HOT tests good. Removing a leg on D10 does not cause the monitor to fire up. Voltage at Q11 is 160VDC

Any ideas here?

Also check the Poly caps in the horizontal section and IC2. !9' or 25" medium resolution K7000?

If you need it repaired hit me up with a private message.

It is a 19"

I'll start checking things when I get off work. Thanks for some direction guys. I'll start with the vreg and then check the Poly caps.

ecwestjr, I'll PM you if I can't track down anything this evening. Thanks!

VR tests good. R101 is about 6.1k. Fly back has small hairline cracks. Probably not a good sign.

I'm going to replace it.

yeah, a 19" monitor should have regulated B+ of like 123v (as the VR part number indicates right? .. so if you're at 160 that should knock it out. I would replace R101 and C38 at minimum. and the flyback for sure if it's cracked.

install another one. :)

I've never had luck with that fixing shutdown problems. another thing to check is the shutdown pot itself. you may have to pop the glue off, mark it, wipe it, set it back where you marked it.

the 19" K7000 med res can be a PAIN to fix.

look for any brioken traces, this chassis burns up from use.

sub out the VR to see if it comes up.

if you need it fixed, your welcome to send it in.

Peace
