K7000 medium res (paperboy) dead

He can attach it to a standard res tube... he will get raster, but the image will be funky (he he was actually pushing an image). Enough to test if it's getting power or not.

Actually, Shardian, measure your yoke and send the readings to me. If they are the same (or close) to the yoke for the standard-res K7000, then I can hook it up to a tube and get a nice white screen, I just won't be able to hook up a board to test colors and everything.

Well, actually, I think I have a working GT 2004 board somewhere, and it has a med-res setting, so maybe I can - as long as the yoke is okay...

Question: I have been offered a chassis from an APB. It is a WG 7915 though. My monitor is the K7635. Does any of that really matter? Are the directly compatible with a med res tube/yoke? I assume yes, but it is always better to ask the pros.

Hmmm, I'm trying to measure the yoke resistance, but can't get a steady reading. I discharged the anode again, and my best guess is 9ohms and 2 ohms (more like 1.5)

I am measuring at the chassis connector. The yoke wiring is odd. It is red, grey (?), smoke stain yellow, smoke stain yellow. Thats the best I can tell... Red being at the offset pin.

Forum member jbacon1054 was kind enough to hook me up with a great deal on a working 19" med res chassis. It needs a cap kit to brighten up the colors, but it works great otherwise.

Here are 2 girls who were super excited to get 'their game' back!

Ah! I see you did just exactly what I did when I got fed up with trying to fix MY K7000 medium res monitor... you bought a WORKING ONE. :D

I still sent the dead one to Mod. Hopefully it does not defeat him too! It will go back in once it is running since it's rebuilt, and this new one will become the backup unit.

Monitor is fixed. Shorted C38, bad D13 (measured good but wasn't working properly), incorrect value of C36, and broken Green Drive pot:
