K7000 I think I broke my IC2 chip?

When I was installing a new cap kit on my K7000 there were two caps near the flyback I had an unbelievably hard time getting to. I had to unscrew the heat sink (I think that's what that is? The metal piece over the flyback) and bend it to the right just a bit to fit one of the caps in correctly, and in doing so I think I damaged the IC2 chip (correct me if I'm wrong on the terminology) that's attached to the metal piece. It's a chip with three pins directly soldered onto the board in a triangle shape just to the right of the flyback. I tried reflowing the solder joints and wiggling the chip around; seems to not work, but I'm fairly certain I messed it up. Any ideas? Attached is a picture of the screen post-cap kit. Thanks in advance.

If its got three legs i think you're talking about the h.o.t.(horizontal output transistor)

Usually it works or it doesn't. Ive never seen a "partially bad" hot but anything is possible i suppose.

Id verify you out the correct value caps in the correct place, in the correct polarity.

After that id check the known bad solder areas that we show in the k7000 sticky and see if maybe you broke loose a crappy solder joint somewhere.

I'll double check the chassis today and check every cap I put in for incorrect values. Ya'll are probably right about the chip being the HOT; I only assumed it was an IC because it looks exactly like one and no one ever shows what the HOT actually looks like in their monitor tutorial vids.

also check out their polarity is correct and look for solder bridges.

it is an IC and is in the manual it is listed as IC 4.

and them not ever being in a video IS BS!!!!

Hey all! Just letting you know that I looked it over one last time and found two caps that were loose; I think the traces were burnt off by the last tech this monitor was owned by (or maybe secretly me), because I had such a hard time getting the solder to stick that I ended up having to recreate a trace out of solder. Either way, I got it to work! Thank you for your help all. And mostly thanks for giving me a lesson on the difference between ICs and the HOT. c:

glad you git it working.

there are several places on a K7000 this can happen to.

now you are ready for the next repair.

Great video Buffett! This is a dumb question, but do the HOTs have to be off the board to test? For some reason I was thinking they could be tested in circuit.
