Hey guys,

I have a 25" k7000 chassis that I did a full cap kit on, replaced the HOT, new flyback and new filter cap. Tube tries to charge with HV for a second or two before going into shutdown. I didn't know if that was how the HV shutdown typically works, just thought I would notate. Pulling D10 allows the chassis to come out of HV shutdown and the monitor displays (mostly) correct.

What area do I need to look at next?

Voltage regulator

I swapped in another from a different chassis, so I believe it's less likely that that is the issue, but still may be. Anything else in that VR circuit that could out of value that could be causing the issue? I will plug up the chassis and verify the voltage. What's the best place to 'safely' grab the voltage values? Same place where I would test for setting the B+ voltage?

big white resistor that hangs off chassis is the place to test B+, VR and shutdown pot are two things to check/replace.

sounds like a bad VR to me.

give the chassis a good re-flow, cold solder can cause your symptoms.

Peace
Buffett

there is two different styles of 130v regulators (str3130, str30130) i have both in stock if you need.
