Hey everyone. I have a K7000 that I just capped to try and fix a problem. It made no difference. I have a 'wavy' horizontal top edge of the monitor. If I install this same chassis and tube in my MK2, it's fine. The problem only happens in the MK1. The horizontal hold pot just moves the 'waviness' around, but does not fix it. See pics for details. Any ideas? Much appreciated - Mike.

What if you adjust the 50/60Hz pot ?

Or turn the Contrast down, Brightness up ?

And bring your image size in a little while trying to situate all this. (height / width)

Doesn't matter what size of the image is, or how I adjust it, it's always the same. NO kind of adjustment I make affects it except the Horizontal Hold, but that only makes it better or worse. It does not actually fix it.

Well, I swapped the chassis with the one in my MK2. Both my MK1 and MK2 have identical tubes and chassis's. I removed the troubled one from my MK1 and installed it on the MK2's tube. Removed the MK2's chassis and installed it on the MK1's tube. Problem is now fixed. I have no idea why it happened or what the cause is, but I asked for help because I didn't want to have to do all of the actions listed above, but I couldn't see a solution. See pics below..

Troubled MK1 chassis on MK2 tube...(you can see the problem is gone)

I guess there is something about the MK1 that the chassis didn't like. The mk2 chassis doesn't seem to mind. Sorry I wasted your time. I just thought there might be a quick fix for it. Thanks again - Mike.

weired...

if it comes back later check tro see if theres cracked solder around the video input pins...

also if these have the remote adjstment board mabye there was a krappy connection on the ribbon cable or something...

huh, at least theyre both happy now lol

Is the sync connector exactly the same in both cabinets? I notice you have different boards running, so maybe the wiring is slightly different. Sometimes the games want the sync to come in on only 1 pin, sometimes both, etc.

sync

I believe also the sync wires just lined up right when you swap chassis's. Some games need both syncs tied together, some games like to use the sync on the 6pin connector, some just need the one sync wire. Depends on monitors and games. you see these problems when switching monitors.

Which is why I mentioned it above.

Both these games are JAMMA, so they both output composite negative sync.

K7000 chassis sync best with composite negative sync only connected to pin 10....
