Hey Guys,

Keep in mind I am a bit of newbie when it comes to tube monitor repair and diagnosis...

I have a 25" Wells K7000 monitor that has color issues. The discoloration is mostly noticeable on the red test screen, but is still noticeable in the blue and green test screens as well. The issue seems to originate on the upper right side of the monitor (lower right when viewed through the mirror in the machine) I do notice high frequency vibrations/oscillations in the area where the issue usually begins. I originally thought a simple manual degaussing would fix it and it does to a certain extent... only temporarily. Once the monitor has been powered up after sitting for a few days, the discoloration will begin to appear again. If the machine is moved around the room, the discoloration sometimes gets better but will degrade over time.. I have had this game in one other place and have experienced similar issues. The game is under fluorescent lights at this time, however I have had it under normal lighting and have had the same issue.

The chassis has been re-capped, it appears the tube has been replaced at one time in the games life. The tube does have very slight burn-in when viewed in the direct sunlight. The chassis appears original to the game.

What do you think? Tube replacement?

I was planning to replace the entire tube with the chassis but later found that new monitors are hard to come by these days.

Thanks for your help!

It looks like it just needs to be degaussed.

OP said he tried manually degaussing it and the issue returned after time. Sounds like it got magnitized by a speaker or something else magnetic. It may be permanent. I had a 19" that had upper corners that wouldn't stay degaussed correctly. I tried a new monitor frame and it didn't fix it.

I've fixed issues like this on other monitors. All it took was some small magnets from Radio Shack stuck to the frame.

While the game runs, give it a quarter turn and see if it gets better. Keep turning till you've made a full circle. Did it ever go away?

That T2 cab uses a monitor that's laid on its back, so degaussing sometimes presents a challenge. Does the issue go away when the monitor is out of he cab sitting on a table? If so, you may need to swap monitors with another one that likes being on its back.

Bump bump? Have you tried any of these suggestions of turning the cab or moving the monitor? My lethal enforcers cab, which has the same monitor/mirror setup, doesn't like facing north. It appeared to have a degauss problem that would not go away. Rotated the cab and it was fine.

I have not removed the monitor from the cabinet as smalltownguy2 mentioned... I have rotated the cabinet and have seen results, however the issue comes back once the monitor is powered back up after sitting for a few days.
