Hey Guys,
Keep in mind I am a bit of newbie when it comes to tube monitor repair and diagnosis...
I have a 25" Wells K7000 monitor that has color issues. The discoloration is mostly noticeable on the red test screen, but is still noticeable in the blue and green test screens as well. The issue seems to originate on the upper right side of the monitor (lower right when viewed through the mirror in the machine) I do notice high frequency vibrations/oscillations in the area where the issue usually begins. I originally thought a simple manual degaussing would fix it and it does to a certain extent... only temporarily. Once the monitor has been powered up after sitting for a few days, the discoloration will begin to appear again. If the machine is moved around the room, the discoloration sometimes gets better but will degrade over time.. I have had this game in one other place and have experienced similar issues. The game is under fluorescent lights at this time, however I have had it under normal lighting and have had the same issue.
The chassis has been re-capped, it appears the tube has been replaced at one time in the games life. The tube does have very slight burn-in when viewed in the direct sunlight. The chassis appears original to the game.
What do you think? Tube replacement?
I was planning to replace the entire tube with the chassis but later found that new monitors are hard to come by these days.
Thanks for your help!
