I have a 25" K7000 style monitor in a game that is very, very dim. I adjusted out the monitor with max brightness and contrast as well as the flyback at max and still didnt even get raster lines. Is this pointing to a toasted tube or a chassis that needs a cap kit, or what?

either/or.

THe only way youre going to be able to find out for sure would be to get another working monitor and swap chassis and see if your issue follows, or make buddies with a guy who has a rejuve and test your tube.

I have seen fly issues, cap issues, and tube issues cause a dim picture so really one of those two ways i mentioned are the only ways to try to nail it down scientifically heh.

Otherwise you are loading up the "diagnostic shotgun" with a capkit and flyback, and praying the tube is good.

If you are ever in the rockford area lmk and id be happy to check the tube out for you(if its a 10 pin aksa cr23 neck tube). And i have a known good k7000 tube and yoke we could test with as well(its also a 10 pin aka cr-23 tube)

Hmm, here is the fun part, I go to college in Chicago, but the arcade is back in Maryland, which is where I am for break right now. I do have a tube rejuvenator, but I don't believe it's functional right now, so I will see about borrowing one. I do have some other games with the K7000a chassis in them, I will swap around and see if the issue moves with the chassis. I really think its a dying chassis since I can't get raster lines, and I didn't think to move chassis around.

why did you not tell me that at the party i had my tube tester with me and parts.

i could have fixed it for you.
