Crap, so I did a Cap Kit, Flyback replacement, and general reflow but I can't get a picture on the screen. if I turn up the Flyback I can get brightness and horizontal lines, but clearly no picture is going through. I checked the HOT and the transistors on the neckboard, but they are all good.

Soooo, can anyone give me some other areas to check or measure? I just am kind of at a loss. If I can't fix it, does anyone offer trade-in/swap chassis anymore?

Thanks!

yup sounds like the video input is not hooked up at all. is the 10pin connector plugged into the monitor chassis? if your not sure post pictures of chassis.

post pics of the screen with just white.

this may give us a clue to what it happening.

you may have a bridged solder joint.
post pics of the solder side of the chassis in HI res so we can see them.

if you need it fixed, your welcome to send it in.
i also offer trades, but you should have your chassis fixed first.

shoot me a PM

Peace

Took me longer to get to it. Please see attached. I took one of the back of the neckboard too.

what is the voltage on IC1?
is your +12vdc good?

nothing looks to out of place on the chassis.
looks like you have some cold solder joints in the Horizontal section.

I have a chassis with the same issue, never figured it out. New flyback, caps, reflow, filter cap, IC1, IC2 a bunch of other parts and never got it beyond seeing raster with the flyback cranked up.

Another thread started on facebook with the same issue. His worked prior to a capkit. Others chimed in saying they have had the same issue and tossed the chassis on the shelf. If anything comes out of that I'll try to remember to post any interesting results.

How do I check those? As in, what pin on IC1 and where is a good place to check my +12vdc?

good that is the correct voltage.

you need to look for a bridged solder joint, damaged trace or broken pad around that ic and follow the traces as you check.

Necro bump. But for good reason. I've been trying to track down this same issue on a K7000 I have here and was pulling my hair out. Turns out Q7 was bad. So add that to the list of things to check if this happens.
