i have a 25" K7000. just did a cap kit and installed a new flyback, and in general the picture is fairly nice.

however, the brightness is unstable. when it's initially turned on from cold it'll get brighter and brighter over the course of a half-hour until it's fairly washed out; readjust with SCREEN and brightness adjustments and it looks good. then sometimes it'll quickly go dark (haven't actually seen it do it so i don't know exactly how quickly but less than five minutes,) and need SCREEN turned back up just to see any picture. readjust and it looks fine.

yes, this tube did already have a recent rejuve.

any ideas of where i should be looking?

I had one that was going dark on me when I adjusted it came back nice then after a few mins would go dark again did a cap kit and flyback did not help turned out to be the tube

after adjusting last night after it went dark and burning in for several hours it seems stable. came up this morning just fine.

i'll definitely reflow the neck socket solder joints and probably throw the rejuvenator on there again just to make sure it's as clean as it can be.

i have had this problem from cold solder joints on the neck socket.

i have even had to replace one because of it.
i guess it was damaged internally.

Peace

just as a followup, reflowed the neck socket joints and did a little more cleaning on the tube. ran it overnight for about 10 hours and it seems to be fine.

it's about to head on location so we'll see just how well it does long-term.
