I have a WG K7000 in my Multi Williams and it has worked well for over a year. It would black out every once in a while but it would always come back on later. Recently it stopped coming on at all. I checked it and the fuse was blown, replaced it and it blew again after humming loudly for a few seconds. I replaced the flyback and HOT, plugged it all back in and the same thing happens. Any ideas out there for where to look next or what to replace next?

Did you put the mica insulator behind the HOT?

Check IC4, C38, C36, D18 - and report back...

The insulator should be a clear piece, about the thickness of paper, and about the diameter of the back of the HOT.

BTW, can I post the WG troubleshooting flowchart here? It would be helpfull for the OP if he doesn't have it already.

Thanks, guys. I found some more info elsewhere and am now looking to replace the C36, C37, C38, and D18. It doesn't look like they're in a standard cap kit so where is a good place to get them? Anything else I might as well get since most of this stuff costs close to nothing? Might as well be prepared for the next issue if replacing this stuff doesn't work.

If you are just shotgunning parts at it without testing them, I'd throw d19-d22 in there as well. And a new voltage regulator.
