I think that's what's going on here. I'm kinda stumped. Full cap kit including filter. Full reflow and I swapped the VR and flyback for shits and giggles - issue remains. What else could it be?
I seen your post on facebook and I thought maybe it was a cps2 or capcom board issue because i knew i seen it before but i think it was a k7000 i was testing with it. i tested it with that same board ive seen it happen before marvel vs capcom on a u2000 I rebuilt and dosent happen at all. I think the reason its easier to notice on cps2 games is because they transition a lot more than other games during their just running idle thing sorry cant find proper words today. So I would be interested to know because I think I have seen it before, you have done cap kit and reflowed all the connector joints especially to the keypad and sync wires?
Maybe a silly question but is the yoke and tube original, or was it swapped at some point?
I have the same issue with a K700O in my SF2 cab, and I've wondered if it has something to do with the vertical circuit leading to the vertical yoke connector. Like there's a lag in supplying sufficient enough power during dark and bright screen transitions.

I've tried it on 2 separate tubes, both of which are tube swaps from consumer tvs. Neither is using an original k7000 yoke. Issue is the same on both. But I have other tube swaps with k7000s and they don't have that issue at all. It's very odd.

Hmm has to be something to do with sync or the control pad area I would think. Especially if the B+ is stable cause i could see voltage kicks doing it. Seems like its coming from the horizontal side to me, check the width coil and anything to do with the width section.
