So I have a k7000 with vertical roll issues.. fine.. decided start at the cap kit.. replaced the cap kit -- looks better - but still has vertical roll.. determined the issue at least seems to be steming from the remote board/wiring..

desoldered the vsync wire, and soldered in a a pot directly to the board.. now the game plays blind and I do not have neck glow. Had another untested chasis - same model.. hooked it up.. still no neck glow still playing blind.. 2 totally dead chasis?!? I removed the chasis so many times I could do it damn near blind folded.. im not missing any connections.. thoughts on what else might be the issue? I desoldered the pot.. resoldered the remote board vsync.. and still nada.

:| Im loosing patience with this machine.

Has the fuse blown? Check the poly caps for shorts, c38, C36 and the smaller ones near the fly. Also look for cold solder joints, these chassis usually have several and being as you've handled it so much, it's a good possibility.

I have 1 good chasis that im 100% works (its the same one in my rev x) I am going to swap them this weekend to rule out everything..

though i feel this machine is cursed and might eat another chasis.

there are plenty of solder points that need to be addressed when doing a cap kit. any one of the those points can prevent the monitor from working. A cap kit is a good place to start but you have to trouble shoot the vertical circuit to see whats going on.

Thus the reason Im sending it to you on monday :) I just want to make sure its really dead and that its not something else in the cab.. after I do the rev x swap I will know for sure.. you might be getting a box of K7000's at the rate that im swapping and testing them.
