I have a strange one.......

Does anyone have the socket for the neck board for a k6100? I seem to have had more issues with this monitor and in the process the metal tab in the socket that contacts the tube for focus is broken. In my repair attempt, it seems my large hands were not delicate enough for me to keep from damaging the metal tab and the socket. If you have a neck board that is non functional with the socket intact, that would help too.

I know I'm not the only hoarder of broken parts/chassis/misc crap out there.

Thanks for letting me know about that listing. I have it on my watch list now. I hate to get a working board just to take the socket from it. I would prefer to find just the socket or a broken neck board so we can keep as many running as possible.

It's possible to take the socket apart and reconnect it. I've done it (wish I'd taken pics)....

I took the socket apart and ended up with a broken contact and broken plastic. Long story short, it came apart OK and my attempt to fix it went sadly wrong.

I will need a complete socket to get this back up and running.

Those sockets are pretty hard to come by.I have several neckboards with busted tabs. I have a friend who says he has sourced them. I haven't heard back from him yet. Will post once I find anything out.

Don't expect it anytime soon. They are overseas. Get a used neckboard off e-bay and hope for a good socket

Does anyone know if the socket is used on any other monitors that I may be able to get as a donor?

I'll be taking it to the Wicks party this Saturday to see what a meeting of several minds can come up with.

It's just a CR24 socket, I've picked up about 3 TV's with that socket type in the past year. All 3 TV's were from the mid to late 70's and were color. I'm not sure if the tubes were 100 degree tubes but thinking not.

Do you still have any of them?

Yes, but I have a bunch of TV's piled up in a shed and not sure which one's they are. Also I need at least 2 of them for 6100 neck boards I have that are missing the sockets.

These TV's were all found at my local thrift store. Anything listed with a 24 in the third column will work, just bring a copy of this paper to the store and look at the tube stickers with a flashlight and match up the numbers on the sheet.

You can also plug any tube model into this ieure.github.com/monitors/

And it will tell you the socket & voltage.

The third column is all you really need to worry about. Here is a quick list of the most common chassis\TV tube combos..

23 - G07, K4600, K4900, and some K7000 models (10 pin large neck)
24 - 6100 (only if the tube is a 100 degree tube which is very rare to find)
31 - K7000 (8 pin small neck)

24 - 6100 (only if the tube is a 100 degree tube which is very rare to find)

So far I have found 2 CR24 tubes neither of which was 100 degres's both we're 90's they we in woodgrain cab's both RCA sets

So CR24 doesn't guarantee 100. and I need 1 too!

I've also heard tale of CR23 100 degree tubes which I'd be game to try if I find 1.
